Carol M. Conaway

Carol Conaway was raised in Massachusetts by wonderfully loving and godly parents. After graduating from the University of Connecticut with a degree in physical therapy, she moved to Florida to have a fulfilling 40-year career. She also received her master’s degree from the University of South Florida in gerontology.

After moving to Florida, Carol joined a church and had the privilege of serving The Lord in many ways over the years. She started by teaching Sunday School to children; she was the director of the Vacation Bible School for 13 glorious years! She then continued to teach God’s “older children.” She is presently teaching adults — God always calls all of us His children! Carol also enjoyed leadership. She has served as an elder in the Presbyterian Church and a deacon in her current church as well as being active in the food pantry ministry. Carol leads a weekly ladies’ Bible study. She has had opportunities teaching groups studying her first three written Bible studies. She feels “alive” when she teaches God’s Word.

Carol believes in witnessing in various ways in the community. She enjoyed many years coaching youth soccer and was active in the PTA at the local, county and state level. Presently she is active as a board member and past president for Suncoast Voices for Children, a group that advocates for foster children, and as a Guardian ad Litem for 12 years. In addition, she is the vice president of Family Promise of Pinellas, working to prevent homelessness in the community. Her love of missions took her to Guatemala for 13 consecutive years on a medical mission trip with Faith in Practice. One of Carol’s favorite verses is Matthew 5:16. “In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds, and praise your Father in heaven.” All glory needs to go to God!

Carol is married, has two children and five adorable grandchildren — just ask her about them!
